Robotic Surgery
at A.M.P.

Dr. Harvey Sauer, robotic urologic surgeon, discusses the advantages of robotic surgery.

At Associated Medical Professionals , we use the latest technology, the da Vinci robot, that allows for minimally invasive surgery. This allows our surgeons to do the most complex surgeries in the body through tiny incisions. This means less pain, less blood loss and faster recovery.

Why is robotic surgery beneficial?

Convenience, cost and safety.

Because robotic surgery using the state-of-the-art da Vinci robot is minimally invasive, most patients can recover in the comfort of their own homes with their family nearby. Combined with the most experienced robotic surgeons in Central New York and a superior nurse-to-patient ratio, patients will experience the best possible robotic surgery for their cancer or other urologic condition in a uniquely caring and personalized environment.

We are pleased to offer our patients the benefits of robotic surgery for robotic procedures that include, but are not limited to:

Prostatectomy

Partial or complete removal of the prostate

It may be performed to treat prostate cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Nephrectomy

Removal of a kidney

It is performed most often for kidney cancer but can also be for other conditions like chronic infection.

Partial Nephrectomy

Removal of part of the kidney

Usually performed because of a tumor while saving the normal portion of the kidney.

Adrenalectomy

Removal of an adrenal gland

It is usually for patients with a tumor in the adrenal gland or overproduction of hormones.

Pyeloplasty/Ureteral Reconstruction

Reconstruction of a narrowing or scarring in the drainage system of the kidney

After removing the blockage, the urinary tract is then reconstructed to allow the kidney to drain normally and preserve its function.

Sacrocolpopexy

Used to treat pelvic organ prolapse in women

Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition that is caused by a weakening of the normal support of the pelvic floor with aging or after a hysterectomy and can lead to incontinence and/or an abnormal bulge in the vagina.
