Dr. Mariados has many clinical interests and has fellowship trained expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy for head and neck, GI, breast, and prostate cancers. He works closely with thoracic surgeons regionally in utilizing stereotactic radiosurgery for lung tumors as well as IMRT. He developed the HDR and LDR and the Ra-223 programs at AMP.
He has presented numerous articles at national and international meetings and continues his research as Director of Research at AMP. Dr. Mariados recently was the lead author in a practice changing publication in the peer reviewed scientific journal of International Journal of Radiation Oncology; a paradigm shift in delivering high doses of radiation utilizing a safer technique - a hydrogel spacer - to decrease side effects and improving quality of life for prostate cancer patients. He has brought new technologies to the forefront both regionally and internationally by utilizing the SpaceOar, Radium-223, and combination of therapies in the care of advanced prostate cancer therapies.
He is a member of ASTRO, ABR, ABS and ACR.
