ZERO Advocates Come Together and Storm Capitol Hill

In February, Peter Iannotta, a Physician’s Assistant from A.M.P. joined ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer and other advocates at the annual ZERO Prostate Cancer Summit in Washington D.C. to discuss & rally on Capitol Hill for prostate cancer research funding.

Over 120 meetings were held with Representatives and Senators with the primary goal of increasing the Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) by $10M for Fiscal Year 2017. Currently, the PCRP is funded at $80M and has produced three new drugs for advanced disease in the past five years. A $10M increase will allow the program to fund more research proposals that focus on genetics, bio-marker development, imaging and survivorship.

Left to Right: Harold Rittner (survivor), Manya Mascareno (prostate cancer researcher), Congressman Charlie Dent, John Gordon (survivor) & Peter Iannotta (Physician’s Assistant for A.M.P.)
