David M. Albala, MD, FACS, Elected to LUGPA Board of Directors

Chicago, Ill. (November 16, 2017) – David M. Albala, MD, FACS, was elected to LUGPA’s 2018 Board of Directors at the 2017 Annual Meeting in Chicago, November 10-11.

Dr. Albala currently serves as the medical director of the Associated Medical Professionals group where he oversees clinical operations of 30 physicians. Dr. Albala is also the Chief of Urology at Crouse Hospital where he focuses on robotic, laparoscopic, stone and endourological research. In addition, he is the associate editor of Reviews in Urology, the official Journal of LUGPA.

“Dr. Albala’s diverse background in both academic medicine and private practice has thoroughly prepared him to assist this organization in furthering urologic collaboration, cooperation and commitment,” said Celeste Kirschner, Chief Executive Officer, LUGPA. Having been an active member at the annual conference for more than six years, his commitment to our goals is evident, and we look forward to witnessing his contributions to the board.

Previously, Dr. Albala was the director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Urologic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He has been published in numerous publications, including the International Journal of Surgery, the Canadian Urological Association Journal and the Journal of Urology. Dr Albala received his doctorate from Michigan State University after obtaining his bachelor's degree from Lafayette College.
