AMP is requiring patients to contact us in advance if you have traveled to any of the states listed on the NYS COVID-19 Travel Advisory List within 14 days of your appointment. If you have, you will either be requested to quarantine for 14 days or have a diagnostic COVID-19 test (with negative test results provided) prior to your appointment.

Our staff will be screening for this when you enter our offices. AMP is complying with Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 205, issued June 25, 2020 to keep our patients and staff safe. We thank you in advance.

AMP COVID Update regarding elective medical and surgical care

Dear Patients, Friends, Family, and Community Members,

Almost two months ago, Associated Medical Professionals of NY asked you to discuss delaying elective medical and surgical care with your physician during the COVID-19 emergency.

On April 21, 2020, Governor Cuomo made the statement that NY will start to allow elective outpatient surgeries to be performed.  We encourage you to reach out to your doctors and discuss their plan for your healthcare.

We have designed and implemented the safest possible healthcare environments in preparation for your return to elective medical care. Our team at AMP has prepared to safely meet your needs based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and New York State Department of Health guidelines.

While under our care you can expect the following as a part of AMP’s process for keeping our patients safe:

  • Aggressive hand hygiene will be evident.
  • All patients and staff will be wearing masks.
  • We will respect social distancing in public places.
  • We will practice on-going screening measures among healthcare workers and patients to identify anyone with fever, symptoms, or exposure history.
  • All patients will be tested for COVID-19 prior to their in-office anesthesia procedures.
  • We will continue to offer telehealth options for your care.
  • Visitation will still be limited in our facilities in order to prevent any spread of infection to our patients.

Frequently Asked COVID Questions:

  • How will testing be administered?
    • Clinic appointment: all patients and staff will be screened for symptoms and exposure prior to coming into the practice.
    • Elective in office anesthesia procedures and hospital procedures: all patients must be tested within 3 -5 days of their procedure.
  • What if someone has COVID symptoms or tests positive?
    • We have a process in place to direct the patient to a testing facility and we are following our county’s health department recommendations.
  • Can I still do a telehealth appointment with my doctor instead of coming into the practice?
    • There are situations where a virtual visit will accomplish your care needs. Our scheduling team can advise you when you call.
  • Do I need to wear a mask into the clinic?
    • Yes, we ask that all patients come to the clinic wearing a mask to protect themselves and others. We will send you complete instructions for your next visit to our clinic.
  • Where can I learn more about coronavirus?
    • Upstate University Hospital COVID-19 Hotline: 315-464-3979. Upstate University Hospital officials have set up a phone bank to answer questions about COVID-19 throughout 14 Central New York counties. The line will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Call this number if you do not have a primary care provider or do not have health insurance. If you do have a primary care doctor, call that person first.
    • If a member of the public has coronavirus-related questions, is showing possible symptoms, or may have had an exposure to someone diagnosed with a positive case of COVID-19, they would call this line to be guided on next steps.
