A.M.P. is excited to congratulate David M. Albala, MD, on being identified by a Stanford University-led study as among the top 2% of scientists internationally.
Dr. Albala is a board certified urologist who is fellowship-trained in endourology, laparoscopy and robotic surgery. He is considered a national and international authority in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery and has been an active teacher in this area for more than two decades.
A prolific educator and researcher, Dr. Albala has published 217 peer reviewed articles to date and six books, along with performing operative demonstrations in more than 30 countries and also serving as a White House Fellow.
The study builds on an original study done in 2019, when a team of Stanford University researchers compiled an exhaustive list containing more than one million scientists from around the world. The database gathered information from Scopus, which tracks academic journal entries, rankings and citation indexes. The updated study identifies the top 2% of scientists, out of the more than seven million in the world.
