Joel S. Bass, M.D.

Dr. Joel Bass graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1984. He completed his surgical and urological training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He went on to complete a fellowship in Female Urology, Urodynamics and Prosthetics at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Bass specializes in the treatment of female and male urinary incontinence and female urology including pelvic floor reconstruction. Dr. Bass is also active in clinical research, with multiple ongoing clinical trials investigating urinary incontinence, benign prostatic hypertrophy, and prostate cancer.
Dr. Bass has been certified by the American Board of Urology. He is a member of the American Urological Association. He has authored or co-authored articles in the Urologic Clinics of North America and other Urologic publications.

Dr. Herbert James graduated from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1989 and completed his post doctoral surgical and urological training at the University of Buffalo in 1994. He has been in private clinical practice since that time. He has been certified by the American Board of Urology and remains a member of the American Urological Association.
Dr. James practice has been centered on general urology with emphasis on management of prostate malignancy and benign prostate diseases.

Dr. Po N. Lam is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He completed his surgical training from the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center. He went on the receive his urologic training at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Lam finished his fellowship training in the area of Endourology, Laparoscopy, and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Lam's specialties and interests are complicated stone disease, endourology, and laparoscopic & robotic surgery. He serves as the Director of Robotics Surgery at Community General Hospital. Dr. Lam has performed hundreds of robotic procedures in Central New York. He is certified in da Vinci robotic surgery and serves as a proctor for Intuitive Surgical, Inc.
Dr. Lam is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology. He has several peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented his work at national and international meetings. Dr. Lam is a member of the American Urological Association, Endourological Society, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Society of Urologic Robotic Surgeons, and Minimally Invasive Robotic Association.
Andres M. Madissoo, M.D.

Dr. Andres M. Madissoo is a 1994 Graduate of the Universty of Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed his postdoctoral Surgery and Urologic Surgery training at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and its Affiliate Hospitals in 2000. He is Board-certified by the American Board of Urology and member of the American Urologic Association.
Dr. Madissoo's specialties and interests include laser procedures for renal stones and benign prostate disease as well as prostate malignancy. He is certified in the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
Dr. Sasha Pavlov-Shapiro completed medical school at the University at Buffalo in 2003.
Dr. Pavlov-Shapiro also completed his residency in General Surgery and Urological Surgery from 2003-2008 at the University at Buffalo. His training included general urology, endoscopic techniques, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
Christopher M. Pieczonka, M.D.

Dr. Christopher Pieczonka graduated from the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine in 1997. He then completed his surgical and urologic training at SUNY at Buffalo Consortium Program in 2003. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is an active member of the American Urological Association. Dr. Pieczonka also has been co-author of publications in the Journal of Urology.
Dr. Pieczonka is currently the Executive Vice-President of the Physician Teamster Alliance of CNY Local #1149 and has a speciality interest in the treatment and prevention of kidney stone disease.

Sharon Valenti graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Brighton, MA in 1979. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. She went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing with distinction at Simmons College in Boston, MA.
She practices general urology and has a special interest in patients with interstitial cystitis and chronic pelvic pain.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Society of Urology Nurses & Associates, Nurse Practitioner Association of New York, Interstitial Cystitis Association, and National Association for Continence.
